McHenry Medical Group began with the association of 2 doctors in
Modesto in the mid-1940s. By 1969, the group had grown to 7
physicians, who then formed a corporation. Other associates joined
the group, becoming 12-strong by 1984 and representing the fields of
Internal Medicine,
General and Vascular Surgery, and
Gastroenterology.
Dermatology was added in 1989 and Mohs Micrographic Surgery in 2007
(both of which were discontinued in 2009), followed by Urology and
Endocrinology in 2008, and
Otolaryngology in 2009.
Following organizational restructuring in September 2009, the group is now officially known as Greater Modesto Medical Surgical Associates, Inc., doing business as McHenry Medical Group. The group currently consists of 19 physicians and approximately 90 clinical and administrative support staff, most of whom are located in the McHenry Medical Building, adjacent to Doctors Medical Center, Modesto. We are proud of our reputation as an established, forward-thinking physician-owned medical group, integrating advances in medical treatment with the changing world of technology. As the electronic medical record becomes a reality, our goal remains the same ― to deliver high-quality, efficient, patient-centered healthcare to residents of the greater Modesto area.
