Humayun Abbas, M.D.

Shehzad Haq, M.D., F.A.C.E., became McHenry Medical Group's first endocrinologist in June 2008, after moving to Modesto from Jackson, Mississippi, where he had a solo practice for two years. Dr. Haq worked as a consulting physician in New Zealand and Australia before returning to Louisville where he was an attending physician with the Veterans Affairs Health System. He then completed an endocrinology fellowship at Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, Marshall University, in Huntington, West Virginia. Dr. Haq was board-certified in Internal Medicine in 2000, and is a diplomate of the American Board of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, becoming board-certified in Endocrinology in 2007. Consumers Research Council of America has included Dr. Haq in their list of "America's Top Physicians." In April 2010, he became a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology (see press release).

Dr. Haq's aim is to practice medicine in line with recent research and evidence-based recommendations to ensure high quality patient care. He believes in educating patients to help them control their conditions and frequently gives presentations to the public on diabetes management.
