Family practitioners are general physicians licensed in the direct care of patients and often specialize in family medicine. Giang N. Lam, M.D., is the first physician in McHenry Medical Group's newly created Family Practice Department. He is board-certified in family medicine, and his practice emphasizes general medicine and chronic diseases, disease prevention and immunizations, as well as health promotion and screening for all family members, including pediatrics.
