McHenry Medical Group’s six surgeons see patients who are referred by other physicians and some self-referrals. They are experienced in general surgery, peripheral vascular, thoracic and trauma surgery, and provide on-call trauma and general surgical services to Doctors Medical Center on a rotating basis. Laser treatment of varicose veins and advanced breast cancer therapies are among the innovative services offered.

Shabnam Chaugle, M.D., is McHenry Medical Group's newest addition to the Surgery Department, joining the practice in November 2007. Dr. Chaugle completed a residency program in general surgery at Oregon Health Science University in Portland and became board certified in 2007. She received an MBA degree from Portland State University and, before coming to the United States, worked as a licensed physician in the United Kingdom, having previously completed an OB-GYN residency in Bombay, India.
